Author: I am currently looking for a wired connection for my xbox so i can play xbox live without a 2 bar connection from my wifi. My xbox is approximately 2 rooms away from the router receiving a constant 2 bars from the household wifi, and i cannot move the xbox to the same room with the router to receive better connection. I do not know much about modems/routers, but we already have a router in the house and i am not pleased with the connection it gives me when i play my video games, so i am wondering if a wired connection via a modem is the right way to go. I have looked up that modems/routers only connect to phone jacks, but i see some modems labled cable modem. I know that i do not have a phone jack in the room i have my xbox hooked up in, but i do have a spare cable jack.
Another question i have is that will the router we already have inter fear with the connection of the modem i plan on buying?
