the years, mainly since the beginning of this year, me and my brother just haven’t been getting along. We don’t have conflict and really never have, but the days where we had many in common are diminishing. We have a 4 year age difference and I’m 18. Were both guys.
I try talking to him or start conversations about school, hobbies, life etc. but he is unable to hold a stable conversation. He won’t listen, looks around, won’t stay on topic or will just stand up and leave. I don’t talk about touchy topics that make him uncomfortable, its just about what sports he might want to do this year and school.
Its sad because there are only two things we both can relate to: School and track and field.
The problem is when I go to college, I won’t be able to talk to him one on one and there is a slim chance he will do any sports this year because he can’t get off the X Box 360. He makes it seem like its a lecture when I talk to him.
Ever since my mom bought X Box Live, my brother just sits on the bed and plays video games for hours straight. After, he says he is too tired to talk and goes to bed.
Is there anything you think I could do that I haven’t tryed?
I stopped playing video games in 2009 because it was a waste of my time and my brother won’t play with me because he is plugged into headphones, a microphone and can’t hear anything around him. He likes to run track, but I’m sure he will chose to sit I front of the XBox and play games instead.
Personally I blame my parents, mostly my mom because she allows him to become completely intraverted.
Anyone have similar problems?
