Hello, I have a 2004 Philips 30pw850h37a, for being almost 8 years old its a great television. I know what your thinking, trade it in for an LCD but that’s not the point here lol, I have an LCD already but I really love my HD CRT because it makes my old games look fantastic and the picture quality is incredible still! So my Tv channels looks great from my converter box and antenna! However, I notice that there is a blurring at the edges when using the 1080i HD via component cable. I am using my Xbox 360 on the HD and Text is unreadable on games mainly at the top right. The picture at the center of the screen is very crisp and good though. Additionally, I notice that there sometimes is a slight black blur on the bottom right edge when playing video games. The blur seems to fluctuate and grow or shrink as I move around in video games such as modern warefare. I thought it may be my Xbox but it also happens when playing my PS2 and Dreamcast. This fluctuating black blur only occurs noticeably on the right side of the tv screen and the left is perfect always. I don’t know if this helps but when i play my Nintendo 64 on the tv, there is no blur at all, the picture is just perfect with amazing color and all! I really don’t believe that my game systems are flawed. Now why the old 64 looks incredible and the others have that black blur problem is beyond me. Could this possibly be a convergence problem or could my HD component input circuitry be messed up? Or could it be the tube itself? Maybe does it need to be de gaussed? Any information is gladly appreciated! Thanks!
